Wednesday on "The Talk," co-host of "CBS Saturday Morning," Michelle Miller opens up about her new memoir Belonging: A Daughter's Search For Identity Through Loss and Love. Born out of an interracial relationship that was an affair, Miller shares, "I'm a child, a hidden child, I'm my mother's secret. I think for a of us, there are a lot of folks like me out there who are shamed, or who grow up through shame. I just wanted an opportunity for people to see that you can come out of that and create a life beyond being the love child." On how it was reconnecting with her mother while in her 20's, she says, "Surreal. I would have to tell you, knowing what I knew and then finding out her side of the story, I was never angry with her for leaving...she made the decision based on what she knew, so I never faulted her for that. Where I had the problem was when my own children were born, she did not acknowledge my own children. And then when I asked her if she would acknowledge me to the rest of her family after her mom and her dad and her husband had died, she said, 'I can't do that.'
